Let’s Play Kaufman, Let’s play Lynch

So Mind Yoursels! Sign up when Glasgow was transformed during the making of World War Z. (image from http://www.heyuguys.co.uk/2011/08/22/exclusive-set-pics-from-world-war-z-in-glasgow-show-destruction-on-the-streets/)

Today, I’m off to Glasgow with D take part in a forty-eight hour film project (http://www.48hourfilm.com/glasgow/).  From Friday night to Sunday, our team will be attempting to write, film and edit together a short movie. For the competition, you are given a genre, a prop, and a line of dialogue, which all must appear in the final piece. I believe we are going to make A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, or perhaps, by sometime in the middle of Saturday night, we will be sitting amongst the wreckage of our creative efforts with Everything Ravaged, Everything Burned.  At least, one might hope, that on Sunday night, even if nothing has gone to plan there will at least be The Sense of An Ending to the whole endeavor.

The film will be shown along with the other entries in our grouping at 6pm on Thursday the 13th of October, at the good old Glasgow Film Theatre. Wish us luck (and plenty of caffeine!)

  1. That sounds like so much fun! Wishing you brilliance, wit, and a carafe of coffee filled by the universe in perpetuity. (How much do I love that sign? Oh, yeah. That much.)

  2. Thanks Lyra, it was great! And that sign is amazing. Good to know that centuries down the line, the filmmakers will still be covered for any liability.
